GPNetworks is proud to announce the completion of a fiber optic broadband infrastructure project bringing high-speed internet to Horse Lake First Nation. Delivered through the Canada\u2013Alberta Broadband Initiative, this project expands reliable connectivity to over 170 households, the band office, and essential community services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project features a fiber-based broadband network, including a newly installed Point of Presence (PoP), designed to provide scalable, high-capacity internet. This infrastructure supports growing demand for digital services such as remote work, online education, healthcare access, and business development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expanding broadband access in Indigenous communities is critical for long-term economic development and digital inclusion. This project strengthens connectivity in Horse Lake First Nation, enabling greater participation in the digital economy and improving access to vital online services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horse Lake First Nation has been part of GPNetworks\u2019 journey since 2005, as one of the company\u2019s first customers. The completion of this fiber optic project reflects GPNetworks\u2019 ongoing commitment to delivering reliable, future-ready internet solutions to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Partnership-Driven Broadband Investment<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This broadband expansion project was made possible through collaboration between the Government of Alberta, the Government of Canada (Universal Broadband Fund), and GPNetworks. The total project investment was $1,655,022, demonstrating a shared commitment to improving rural and Indigenous broadband access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
